Each participant should have a unique account, and this should be an account to which you have full access. The reasoning here is twofold: 1) to make the account as anonymised as possible (i.e., remove identifiable information such as first/last name and personal email), and 2) to make account recovery possible in case of data loss or incomplete data extraction.

Participants will need to install the Withings Health Mate App and link the device. Ideally, participants can be sent home with the device and instructed to follow the in-app instructions to complete the setup.
Note: App and account setup can be done in-lab, but WiFi connection and final mat setup must be done at home.
Participants must enable sleep apnea detection once the mat is connected to their app. This can be done during the initial setup when prompted, or anytime after.
Instructions: Sleep Analyzer (EU & ROW) - Activating the sleep apnea detection
Make sure to factory reset the device before giving it to a new participant.

Data can be viewed on https://healthmate.withings.com/ by logging into the participants' accounts. This can provide a means to export most of your data to .csv, as well as a visual breakdown of each night of sleep (below).
If you are not dealing with bulk data, or simply need to check that mats are recording, this is the best option.
